How to Get Buy-in and Overcome Technical Challenges for a Chiller Electrification Project

Sponsored by EN-POWER GROUP
Learn how a luxury multifamily building overcame multiple challenges to electrify its central cooling plant. The 35-story, 560,000 sqft property located on Central Park South worked with EN‑POWER GROUP to upgrade its outdated single-stage steam absorption chiller. Our engineers faced a tight construction schedule, a heavily foot-trafficked location, and limited electrical infrastructure but successfully replaced the chiller on time with a far more efficient electric modular chiller plant, all while avoiding expensive rigging and re-wiring of the facility.

Moderated by Elizabeth Engoren, PE, the session will feature Christopher Cafiero, the property manager of the building, and Michael Scorrano, PE, the principal engineer who designed and installed this engineering project. Together, they will discuss the technical and logistical aspects of the work and how they minimized disruption to residents. To read about the project before the session,
