Robert Politzer is the President and Founder of GreenStreet of New York Inc. (GSNY) and GreenStreetNYC (GSNYC). GSNY is an innovative smart building and development firm, operating primarily in the NYC tri-state region. Since 1998, GreenStreet has worked on numerous cutting-edge clean power and smart building projects including: the first grid tied residential Solar PV project in NYC, the Mark Twain House Visitors Center in Hartford, CT which was the first LEED Certified Museum in the US; the Green Roof for the Manhattan-based Earthpledge Foundation; the first Green Townhouse project in Brooklyn with geothermal heating and cooling; and the Green Canteen restaurant which was the first LEED Certified Restaurant in NYS.

Mr. Politzer is a LEED Accredited Professional, a C-RED Certified Developer, the former Chair of the NYS Sustainable Business Task Force and the former Chair of the Green Design and Construction Committee of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Politzer holds a Bachelor’s in Biology from Indiana University, a Master’s in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from Manhattan College. Mr. Politzer started his career as a New York City Public High School teacher and has served as Adjunct Professor at both New York University and the New York City Technical College. He is also a Tai Chi Teacher at the West Side YMCA where he has been teaching for 21 years. The author of numerous published articles on Green Building and Green Business, Mr. Politzer is currently writing a book called “The Green Business Survivor’s Guide.”
