Jim founded Big Bend Studio Architects in 2017. After 25 years of work primarily with higher education clients on science, engineering, and technology environments, Jim shifted his focus toward small residential additions, renovations, and new construction, with an emphasis on low carbon approaches.
Jim is registered as an architect in Massachusetts and Vermont and a LEED accredited professional. He has a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in religion from Princeton University. Jim has also taught architecture, starting in 1994, having held adjunct appointments at Boston Architectural College, Roger Williams University, and The Catholic University of America.
