Big news for BuildingEnergy 15! We're pleased to announce that the 2nd Annual Net-Zero North American Leadership Summit will be co-located with us at the Seaport World Trade Center for BuildingEnergy 15, March 3-5, 2015 (natch). We're excited for this great opportunity to celebrate innovation in zero net energy technologies and practices with professionals from across North America and around the world.

What is the Net-Zero North American Leadership Summit?

Organized by the Net-Zero Energy Homes Coalition, the Net-Zero Leadership Summit's goal is to bring together net-zero innovators in energy efficient technology, builders, developers, designers, product companies, utilities, and public agencies to continue identifying and pursuing opportunities to collaborate and combine efforts across North America to accelerate the market adoption of net-zero at the community scale. Summit workshops will be structured around the key focus areas identified at their last gathering in 2013: Policy, the Grid, Driving Demand, Finance & Real Estate, Education & Collaboration, and Products & Technologies.

This is a great fit for BuildingEnergy 15 because of NESEA's continuing focus on zero net energy retrofitting and construction through the annual NESEA Zero Net Energy Building Award, the BuildingEnergy Masters Series Zero Net Energy Homes online course and soon to be released zero net energy homes database.

How Will It Work Inside BuildingEnergy?

The Net-Zero Leadership Summit will run in parallel on all three days of the BuildingEnergy conference in a blended-enrollment set up. Here’s how it works: Net-Zero Leadership Summit attendees will have their own programming on Tuesday. They’ll join BuildingEnergy attendees for sessions on Wednesday, and on Thursday, they’ll head into a facilitated workshop with the outcome of a “Pathway to Zero” plan.

On behalf of all of us at NESEA, we can't wait to welcome hundreds of Net-Zero Leadership Summit attendees to the BuildingEnergy community of sustainability professionals.
