Job Overview

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst who will be a member of the Renewable Energy Production Management department. The position will report to the Program Director and focus on Production Tracking System (PTS) software support and data control measures. The PTS is a web-based application used by the MassCEC to track renewable energy capacity and production for systems receiving renewable energy certificates or MassCEC incentives.

 

Job Duties

  • Create and perform software Quality Assurance testing (QA) for production releases, ensuring project deliverable meets proposed requirements.
  • Manage and resolve questions arising from the development team, BAs, users, and management.
  • Improve data quality and accuracy by performing standard data control, process quality measurements, profile data to discover inconsistencies and anomalies, and perform data cleansing activities (e.g., identify exceptions, missing data interpolation).
  • Perform standard and ad-hoc data queries.
  • Assist and support the technical team with development assignments and ongoing maintenance.
  • Research and recommend new approaches and tools to improve data analysis and management.
  • Assist and support the Production Management Team with additional business processes and tasks as required.

 

Position Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in STEM discipline related field, or relevant experience;

Experience:

  • 2+ years of SQL experience (T-SQL experience is a plus)
  • 2+ years of experience working with large data sets, analyzing data, and troubleshooting data issues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio);

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable of test case management software;
  • Advanced understanding of relational database concepts and structure;
  • Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle);
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Familiarity with Azure or other cloud environments (a plus);
  • Highly analytical and creative;
  • Strong organizational skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines;
  • Very detail-oriented, with careful attention to work processes;
  • Takes ownership of responsibilities and follows through;
  • Tact and diplomacy for dealing with internal team members and staff, external vendors, customers, and clients;
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a group;
  • Ability to respond to shifting priorities;
  • Interest in clean energy or environmental policy is helpful, but not required; and Must be able to comply with MassCEC’s Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination Policy (requiring either full vaccination or the grant of an exemption prior to commencement of employment) developed in response to Executive Order 595 issued by Governor Baker.
