Tour de Sol: The Great American Green Transportation Festival
May 19-26, 2001 CT-NY-MA

Festivals were held in Waterbury, CT (May 19-21); Pittsfield, MA (May 22); Albany, NY (May 23); Greenfield, MA (May 24); Worcester, MA (May 25); Boston, MA (May 26)

Over 50 cars, pick-ups, and motor scooters were on display at free festivals during Clean Air Week. Many auto manufacturers showcased their latest offerings as well as futuristic concept vehicles such as fuel-cell vehicles, hybrids, and new neighborhood vehicles. Students and others exhibited their vehicles and competed for the US Electric Vehicle Championship. Thousands of people took this opportunity to see how we can make a difference in keeping America green and on the move. Each festival was as unique as its host community - many included music by Sarah Lee Guthrie and other well-known entertainers.
