MORE "FOR SALE" VEHICLES --HONDA STAYS IN THE LEAD
Honda’s new Civic Hybrid, on sale in May, will be making its U.S. on-road debut as the official Pace Car. This five-seat sedan is expected to achieve an EPA rating of 50 miles per gallon, and to be certified as an Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV), an 84 percent reduction in hydrocarbon emissions compared to a typical car. Honda’s participation – its third year as lead corporate sponsor of the Tour de Sol — demonstrates the company’s commitment to develop real-world, market-ready vehicles that continue to reduce the impact of automobiles on the environment.
DaimlerChrysler will again be joining us as Bronze Sponsor. They will showcase three of their latest green vehicles. They will display their electric neighborhood vehicle, the GEM, which has been selling well over the past few years. In addition they will bring their recently announced fuel cell concept vehicle the Natrium, and a yet to be announced prototype hybrid vehicle. The Natrium minivan features a unique hydrogen storage system produced by Millennium Cell, and a Ballard fuel cell.
Toyota and Ford TH!NK Mobility will also join us as bronze sponsors and have exhibits of their wares. In addition, several green vehicle owners will join us with their Toyota Prius, and Honda Insights. nesea@nesea.org |
