What does a GBOH host need to do?
If you sign up as a host, these are the things you’ll be responsible for:
Work with your local organizer
- Stay in touch with the GBOH organizer assigned to your state for updates and information
Manage your site
- Open your building from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday of October 13th—if your hours must deviate from this, please tell us when you register
- Have a knowledgeable adult at the site during the tour hours to help give the tour and to answer visitors’ efficiency and energy questions
- Most tours are free; if you need to charge a fee, please tell us when you register
- Ask visitors to sign in and print clearly on the sheets provided by NESEA, and return the sheets to NESEA by fax or email by October 30
- Offer visitors materials supplied to you by NESEA
- Ideally, make system specifications and performance data, as well as contractor contact information, available in an easy-to-read format
Help promote your site
In addition to the publicity NESEA will do for you, please …
- Post flyers in your community about your open house; flyers will be available on this website by the end of May
- Put up a lawn sign: if you’re a repeat host, please recycle last year’s; if you’re a new host or your sign has seen better days, request a new one when you register
