Committees

Much of NESEA's work is carried out by volunteer member working committees.  These include:

 
  • Board of Directors committees composed of both board and non-board members. These include the Finance Committee, Nominations Committee, Development Committee, and Governance and By-Laws Committee. In addition, each year the membership elects three new NESEA board members.  
  • Special advisory committees to the Executive Director. These include: the Web Advisory Committee, Professional Development Committee, Northeast Sun Editorial Advisory Committee and a Policy Advocacy Committee.
  • Program Committees. Examples include the Building Energy Conference Planning Committee, the Zero Net Energy Building Award Committee and the Professional Leadership Award Committee.
  • NESEA Chapter Committees. These include the Chapter Caucus, local chapter boards and local chapter working committees.

Become a Sponsor

Sponsoring a NESEA event is a great way to support NESEA's unique and important work and promote your business. There are many opportunities for sponsorship. Examples include:

  • Sponsorship of the annual Building Energy Conference. This annual March conference reaches a broad range of sustainable energy practitioners and customers. Email the Executive Director or call (413)774-6051 x23.
  • Sponsorship of The Green Buildings Open House, the largest sustainable energy event in the Northeast, which takes place the first Saturday in October. Email the Executive Director or call (413)774-6051 x23. This is a prime opportunity to reach consumers seeking energy efficiency products and services, site-based renewable energy systems and other sustainable lifestyle products. NESEA distributes the annual print edition of the Sustainable Green Pages through this event, so make sure your business is listed by joining at a NESEA business level.
  • Sponsorship of the Zero Net Energy Building Award. This award invites high-performance architects, builders and design teams throughout our 10 state territory to submit one year's worth of data showing that their project has successfully achieved a zero net energy state.  Email the Executive Director or call (413)774-6051 x23.

  • Volunteer at NESEA's BuildingEnergy Conference.
  • Open your house for NESEA's annual Green  Buildings Open House event. 
  • Write a technical article for the Northeast Sun Magazine. 
  • Volunteer at NESEA's Annual Meeting.
  • Help spread the word about NESEA's annual fund drive.
  • Help NESEA promote its events through Facebook, Twitter and Linked In.
