American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy ACEEE, a research organization, produces high-quality technical information on energy-efficiency and transportation, but also offers practical advice for the general public, especially through their Consumer Guide to Home Energy Savings and Green Book: The Environmental Guide to Cars and Trucks.
American Solar Energy Society ASES is dedicated to advancing the use of solar energy and is the US section of the International Solar Energy Society. They sponsor a major annual national conference, public the magazine Solar Today, and publish white papers. NESEA is a regional chapter of ASES.
American Wind Energy Association AWEA, the trade association of the wind energy i ndustry, produces both technical and popular information about using wind for electricity.
Energy Efficient Building Association EEBA promotes the awareness, education, and development of energy efficient, environmentally responsible buildings, and communities.
Interstate Renewable Energy Council IREC works to accelerate the sustainable use of renewable energy sources and technologies in and through state and local government activities. IREC manages the Photovoltaics for Utilities (PV4U) program and gives out National Renewable Energy Recognition Awards.
National Wind Coordinating Committee The NWCC establishes dialogue among key stakeholders and catalyzes activities to support the development of wind power. Members include representatives from electric utilities, state legislatures, state utility commissions, consumer advocacy offices, wind equipment developers, green power marketers, and environmental organizations.
Solar Energy Industries Association The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) is the national trade association of solar energy manufacturers, dealers, distributors, contractors and installers. The New England chapter of SEIA has installed a solar electricity system on the New England Cable Network News headquarters so that the network can report a daily "solar power index." NESEA is cooperating with this project by providing information about solar electricity to interested TV viewers.
Sustainable Buildings Industries Council Previously the Passive Solar Industries Council, SBIC not only supports passive solar design, but also building-integrated photovoltaics, energy efficiency, daylighting, healthy indoor environments, and other aspects of sustainable design and construction.
