WindSenators Teacher Training Program, Albany, NY

Are you an educator interested in working with teachers and students to bring wind energy science and technology into K-12 classrooms? Want to become part of the KidWind outreach and training network? Looking to sponsor a KidWind Challenge in your state or region? Then this is the program is for you! Join KidWind education staff for an immersion workshop, August 2-7, 2010 at the TEC-SMART Center, Hudson Valley Community College in Albany, NY.

The goal of the WindSenators Education Network is to provide regional locations with knowledgeable, experienced wind energy educators who can share the tools and information required to teach students and the public about wind energy science and technology.

The six-day training provides hands on instruction about wind energy science and technology addressing a variety of subjects (physics, technology, biology, earth and environmental science) and includes in depth training on the WindWise Curriculum and KidWind materials and curricula. There will also be guest speakers from the wind industry, and tours of local wind facilities.

WindSenators are an integral part of the WindWise and KidWind programs.
WindSenators can:

• Provides wind energy teacher trainings in their state or region • Purchase Kidwind products at reduced prices • Participate in the development of new wind energy curriculum and materials • Sponsor KidWind Challenge and related events in their state • Represent WindWise and KidWind at conferences and events
