Sustainable building is rapidly becoming the new guiding
principle for communities and institutions. The need for professionally
certified advisors trained in the strategies and tools for implementing
sustainable building standards is a rapidly growing field. This nine-month,
comprehensive curriculum covers the latest in green building technology as well
as the basic issues and design techniques behind sustainable building. Students
learn to how to apply relevant criteria and guidelines such as LEED™ and to
evaluate cost/benefit analyses. Information about financial incentives and
technical assistance offered by governments and organizations is presented. The
course is designed for facilities and capital project managers, developers,
contractors, realtors, consultants and those who work for architectural, design
and engineering firms, public utilities and other government agencies, resource conservation organizations, and educational
institutions. Approved by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for 100
learning units and recognized by the US Green Building Council as a Mastery 400
course. This course is approved for the training of veterans.
