The Children's Museum of New Hampshire in Dover, NH is hosting a free model solar car workshop on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. This workshop is designed to prepare teachers and non-formal educators in leading middle school kids through Junior Solar Sprint, a highly engaging and successful program where kids design, build and compete with model solar electric cars. Your young engineers will deepen their understanding about solar energy, math, physical science and craftsmanship. Teams can enter their cars in local design and race competitions with top winners invited to NESEA's annual northeast championship. At the workshop you will receive:
• A basic parts model solar car kit and hands-on building practice
• JSS educator resources including lesson plans and area event information
• A chance at door prizes including a model car solar panel
• Professional development points/credits for hours attending workshop
