This Pro Tour will feature Corona Senior Residence, an 8-story building which is poised to become the first senior housing development in New York built to Passive House International Standards. The project developed by HANAC, Inc. and designed by Think! Architecture and Design will provide the community with 68 units of affordable housing and an early education center.

The Pro Tour is hosted by the Association for Energy Affordability (AEA), the Passive House consultant for the building, and will allow attendees to learn about the building’s history, design process, materials, and the partnerships that made this ambitious project a reality.  Attendees will tour the residences at the peak of construction, granting them a ‘behind-the-scenes’ look at this urban midrise.

Representatives from AEA and Duncan Architects (the PHPP modeler) will be on hand to explain the strategies that are being employed for optimal energy performance. They will be joined by other project team members who will speak to specific aspects of the building’s performance and construction. The event will conclude with a networking reception and a Q&A with the project team.
