General Information: This is a highly efficient super-insulated (dense-pack cellulose, walls R-38, ceiling R-60) home on an insulated slab with many large south-facing windows to maximize solar gain. The home is built using wood harvested within an approximate 45 mile radius. Heating is with a masonry stove designed by Norbert Senf, Shawville, Quebec. Most materials are natural and several floors and countertops are from recycled slate. The home has a large central room open to the second floor ceiling and an indoor garden with a 2 1/2 story cathedral ceiling. It is located in a wooded rural area. Locally harvested wood, recycled slate flooring and countertops, landscape integrated.

General Information: The house is being built now. We are putting the roof on. The solar photovoltaic system is in place and is powering the tools for building. The builder and owner will be working on it the day of the tour. There is a deep well solar water pump also installed.
