Solar Homes and Other Green Buildings Tour: As part of the National Tour of Solar Homes, houses and other buildings that use clean energy will open their doors to the public. Read the current listings and check this website regularly for additional listings.
Energy Clinics at Home Depot Stores: On Saturday, October 13, Home Depot stores at the following locations will offer free energy efficiency workshops: Berlin, Fairfield, Manchester, North Haven, Southington, Wallingford, and West Hartford. Check back soon for more details.
Hydropower Facility Tour: The Wyre Wynd hydroelectric facility in Jewett City will offer tours to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This facility provides approximately 60 percent of the electricity for the Connecticut Energy Cooperative's "Eco-Watt" product - Green e certified green electricity.

Go over the Quinebang River then left at yellow blinking light onto "K of C Drive" (follow Wyre Wynd signs). Go for ¼ mile then left onto Anthony St. Follow for 300 feet then right into Wyre Wynd complex. Go straight for ¼ mile through gate, past the manufacturing plant, all the way back to the hydro facility.
Visit Connecticut Light and Power's SmartLiving Center: The SmartLiving Center is a comprehensive resource for residential energy efficiency information. The walk-in center, located in Newington, Connecticut, showcases easy-to-live-with energy-efficient products in a variety of practical home settings. Interactive exhibits allow visitors to experience first-hand the style and comfort of 100 modern energy-efficient products and innovations. Although not a retail store, you can order through the SmartLiving catalog at the center.

From Route 9 North and South: Take Route 5/15 (Berlin Turnpike) exit North. Travel North on Route 5/15 (Berlin Turnpike) to Newington. Proceed past intersection with Route 287 (Prospect Street). At the next light make a u-turn (Atlas Tile is on the right and Cumberland Farms is on left). SmartLiving Center is 0.7 miles from the u-turn on the right hand side, across from Bernie's.
