The 2004 Mid-Atlantic Sustainability Conference will take place at the Marriott Hotel and War Memorial in Trenton, New Jersey. These sites are easy to reach by car and are a cab ride away from the train station.

About the War Memorial

Located on Memorial Drive in Trenton, the War Memorial has served the state capital and central New Jersey since 1932. The War Memorial has earned acclaim as much for its architectural splendor as for its success as one of the region's top performing arts venues and conference centers. Over the decades, the War Memorial has served as a backdrop for presidents and governors, ballerinas and divas, maestros and magicians, jazz and jokes, crooners and conferences, as well as for the top tier of New Jersey's governmental, social, cultural, and business leadership.
About the Marriott at Lafayette Yard
Trenton Marriott at Lafayette Yard specializes in highly effective meetings and offers dedicated, distraction-free meeting environments. Stay in one of 197 guestrooms equipped with voicemail, TV and cable. Trenton Marriott is located in a downtown setting within walking distance to the New Jersey State Capital Complex and various historical sites. This Marriott is also conveniently situated adjacent to the Trenton War Memorial where we will hold plenary sessions as well as some workshop and break out sessions.

NESEA has reserved guest rooms for conference attendees at this luxurious hotel right next to the War Memorial. Please call 1-800-228-9290 or (609) 421-4000 and refer to the Mid-Atlantic Sustainbility Conference. A special early bird rate of $89 + tax (paid in advance and guaranteed with credit card, and non-refundable) is offered if reserved by Tuesday, August 24, 2004. From August 25 to September 7, 2004 reservations will be offered at the rate of single/double occupancy 109 + tax + parking or single/double occupancy with parking included for $119 + tax. Travel and Parking
A parking garage is attached to the Trenton Marriott at Lafayette Yard for registered guests only. If that is full upon your arrival, a second parking garage is available two short blocks away at the corner of Front and Broad Streets. See below for parking rates and directions. Since parking is very limited, we strongly suggest that you take public transportation. If you plan to arrive by train, the Amtrak station is approximately one mile from the hotel. Call the Marriott (609)421-4000 for shuttle service to the hotel from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
About Trenton and Local Activities

Trenton State House
|
Trenton is home to the State Capitol with a wealth of historic treasures close to conference events. Across from the Marriott is the circa 1758 Old Barracks, best known for sheltering Hessians and Loyalists when Washington crossed the Delaware in 1776 for his first victory at the Battle of Trenton. Barracks tours run from 10am-5pm ($6 adults, $3 seniors). Also at the Old Barracks, Wednesday, September 29, at 7:30 PM, a Coffee House performance with folksinger, Geoff Kaufman, best known for his music of the sea. Tours of the State Capitol (built in 1792) are available from 10am-3pm daily. The "First Friday" block party promises a fun way to end the conference with live music, restaurant specials, sidewalk booths, and more.

By train from the north or south of Trenton: Take NJ Transit or Amtrak to the Trenton Train Station. The train station is approximately 2 miles from downtown Trenton and taxis are available for transport.

PARKING:
Parking is at a premium in this area. If you decide to drive in, consider the following options:
1) Park at your own risk on the streets and paylots near the site.

This garage closes at 7 PM. If you are attending the evening Trade Show Reception on 9/30/04, time your departure appropriately, or move your vehicle to the Marriott Garage at the close of the conference day (5:30).
