Out of chaos comes order
NESEA’s BuildingEnergy conference is the only large-scale conference planned and run by an organization’s members, rather than by a production company. The BE planning committee is a semi–self-organizing group of 50 or more member-professionals who determine the content of the conference each year. It meets four times during the year leading up to the conference. The process may be slightly scary—so many volunteers! so many moving parts! so much to do!—but it’s far from ugly. As a matter of fact, we think it’s a beautiful thing. And the results couldn’t be more satisfying.

Special thanks this year to our chair, Paul Eldrenkamp of Byggmeister, and vice chair, Marc Sternick of Dietz and Company Architects. Paul’s long commitment to high-performance building and remodeling and Marc’s extensive sustainable design experience make them valuable leaders in developing our content.
