New technology and new ideas

Track 3, "New Renewables," covers up and coming renewable energy technologies due out within one to five years.

Track 8, "What Upper Austria Did." Just days after their return, four NESEA energy professionals report on a week of intense study in Austria about what methods that country used to dramatically reduce its energy use.

Innovative workshops

Two highly anticipated offerings by Chris Martenson (Crash Course) and Jason McLennan (Living Building Challenge). Seating is limited.  Workshops take place Tuesday, March 8.  Registration opens September 15, 2010.

Critical training for energy professionals

Educators' Mini Summit, Wednesday, March 10

Presented by NESEA's K-12 Education Department, the Educators' Mini Summit will allow 60 educators to engage in focused workshops and network with the multi-disciplinary group of professionals who attend the BuildingEnergy conference. Innovative Design

The 2011 Student Design Competition takes the blank slate of empty lot and turns it into a plan for sustainable mixed-use buildings and green space in Boston's Roxbury district. The winning design will be presented to the lot owner for consideration. Students of architecture are welcome to form teams to join the competition. Team registration deadline: October 1. Hands-on Demonstration Stage

A new hands-on demonstration stage on the Trade Show floor will allow a close up look at best practices in high performance construction and retrofit.

A Special Welcome to Emerging Professionals
