Boston-Copenhagen Learning Exchange Scholarship Winner

NESEA is delighted to announce that Christina McPike was selected as the recipient for the Boston-Copenhagen Learning Exchange scholarship.  Christina will travel with the Women Leading Change group to Copenhagen June 18-24, 2016 to study the efforts of the Danes with respect to carbon neutrality, climate change mitigation, resiliency, and related topics.  Women Leading Change is comprised of a group of women leaders involved in sustainable energy, high performance building, commercial real estate and urban planning.  The Kate Goldstein Fund for Emerging Professionals will underwrite the scholarship. 

 

As a project manager with with the Energy & Sustainability team at WinnCompanies, Christina McPike's role includes identifying opportunities for energy retrofit projects across the company's existing portfolio. WinnCompanies is a developer, owner, and manager of mixed income multifamily housing. In three years, the company has performed over $8 million worth of energy and water retrofit upgrades in MA, CT, PA, NY, and RI. Christina is also responsible for overseeing and implementing green certification programs and requirements for LIHTC properties at acquisition and/or rehab across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. This includes defining and managing the sustainability components of comprehensive rehabilitation projects, specifically the requirements and strategies around Enterprise Green Communities, Home Performance with Energy Star, the Multifamily Performance Program and/or LEED.

She is also an aspiring energy geek, and has been a NESEA Member since 2014.
