CIRenew - Promoting a Sustainable
Energy Future for Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket
The Cape
& Islands Renewable Energy Collaborative (CIRenew) brings together diverse individuals and
organizations with common interest in achieving a sustainable energy future,
both locally and globally.
CIRenew was formed in 2000 as a participatory collaborative involving advocacy
groups, research centers, businesses, energy service providers, and educational
institutions, as well as officials
from local, regional, state, and federal agencies. Through CIRenew, individuals from different organizations collaborate in many areas to promote conservation, efficiency, renewable energy, green building, and sustainable thinking. In 2008, CIRenew participants issued a regional energy action plan, CIGoGreen: A Call to Action & Report to the Community, designed to organize and accelerate progress by local residents, businesses, and communities.
CIRenew also is a membership organization, serving as the local chapter of NESEA since 2005. Members of the general public and professionals are encouraged to join CIRenew and the larger NESEA community, supporting collaborative efforts to address energy-related challenges and create a better future at the local, regional, national, and global levels.
Make a difference. Say "See, I renew!"Act now. Say, "See, I go green!"
